Debra Levine’s special presentation, the aptly titled Jazzed: The Choreographer and the Movie Moguls, was one of the highlights of Cinecon 2026. Her meticulous research and dynamic delivery helped bring the relatively unknown dancer/choreographer Jack Cole into the limelight. Levine smartly sprinkled in rarely seen film clips and fascinating behind-the-scenes photos to further underscore the work of an underappreciated genius.

At our screening of Let’s Make Love (1960) at the Royal Theatre, Debra Levine offered great insights into choreographer Jack Cole and his collaboration with superstar Marilyn Monroe during the 1950s.  Debra not only knew the full back story behind this movie, but she recounted it with wit and a wide-ranging perspective.  She would be a huge asset to any discussion of film, theater, and the highlights of 20^th century dance.
